Christopher Burns is an active freelancer in the Houston area, performing with ensembles such as Opera in the Heights, Houston Bach Society, Theatre under the Stars, and Orchestra X, as well as in the Corpus Christi and Shreveport Symphony Orchestras. He received his Bachelor of Music from the New England Conservatory and was a Fulbright scholar in Vienna, Austria, where he studied with Alois Posch, the principal bassist of the Vienna Philharmonic. Other mentors have included Paul Ellison, Lucas Drew, and Todd Seeber. Mr. Burns has performed in various festivals and orchestras throughout the United States, South America, Europe, and Japan. He has full bass studios in the Katy and Cypress-Fairbanks independent school districts, and teaches privately at home, working with students of all levels.
